Ribbons wins PSSA Marsh Award public vote!

Posted 1 day ago

We did it! Ribbons won the public vote at last night’s PSSA Marsh Award for Excellence in Public Art. But my goodness is was close! So thank you to each and every one of you who took the time to vote.

This award is for all the amazing women on the sculpture as well as those whose names remain hidden from view. Leeds wouldn’t be the place it is today without you! Thank you!

Congratulations to all the shortlisted artists @alexchinneck @jasondecairestaylor @ryanjgander and a special shout out to Marian Leven and Will Maclean for winning the actual Marsh Award with their stunning and sensitive na Dorsan on the Isle of Lewis. It was made to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the resettling of the community after most of them were shipped off to Canada in the 1800s to make way for sheep.

Pictures is of me with winners Marian Leven, Will Maclean and Marsh judge Jaquiline Cresswell (in red).
